The state of art Padmashri Dr. B. Sivanthi Adityan Sports Centre of Excellence (SASCE) in Tiruchendur where the India men’s Volleyball team were the first users on Monday in preparation for the Asian Games

Tiruchendur, India, June 7, 2010 – Volleyball Development in India received a great boost on Monday with the official opening of the state of art Padmashri Dr. B. Sivanthi Adityan Sports Centre of Excellence (SASCE) in Tiruchendur, which was inaugurated by Padmashri Dr. B. Sivanthi Aditan, Chairman of Aditanar Educational Institutions and FIVB Executive Vice-President. 
 
The India men’s Volleyball team were the first users of the centre in a coaching camp which started on Monday in preparation of the team for the Asian Games, which will be held in China in November this year.

The air conditioned centre, which was named after Dr. Adityan who is also a member of the FIVB Development Fund Steering Committee and President of the FIVB Finance Commission, includes a gym, as well as a guest house for players and other executives, which contains sleeping and meeting quarters.

In addition to the Volleyball facilities available, the centre also boasts a swimming pool and running track as well as two basketball courts.
