FIVB BEACH VOLLEYBALL SWATCH YOUTH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

The FIVB Beach Volleyball SWATCH Youth World Championships is an annual event, designed to help introduce the next generation of beach volleyball stars to a world class event. First established in 2002 it has been a breeding ground for today’s senior stars, with World Tour regulars such as Germany’s Laura Ludwig and Brazil’s Pedro and Carolina Salgado all winning medals at the event. The tournament has seen seven countries win men’s gold and five different countries win women’s, illustrating the diversity of the competition. In 2012, the tournament took place in Larnaka, Cyprus. Bryl/Kujawiak from Poland and Dumbauskaite/Povilaityte from Lithuania were crowned the 2012 youth world champions.
