Born in Buenos Aires on February 8, 1969 Kostolnik first
started playing Volleyball as libero in 1985 in club
Ciudad de Buenos Aires.
It wasn’t until three years later she moved to club
Napoli in Italy were she played from 88-90, before
moving to Pallavolo Florens Castellana Grotte (Italy)
from 90-91. She returned to Argentina in 1992 and
rejoined Club Ciudad de Buenos Aires from 1992-96 before
playing for River Plate.
Her debut in the national team was in 1986 with the
youth team, before making the transition through the
junior and senior ranks, playing in five South American
Championships and one World Cup (1999), where she was
chosen as the second best libero.
The German, English and Italian speaker has 70 Argentine
caps to her name.
“It seems to me that the Asian teams are very quick and
are very good in defense and reception, whereas the
European teams play more similar to us in Argentina,”
said the nutrition graduate.
