COURSES 2012

Refereeing Courses
	The FIVB’s refereeing courses are designed to help spread the knowledge of the sport across the world. Courses are held throughout the year and range from refresher courses to International Referee Candidate Courses and Continental events. The aim of each event is to help improve and update referees' knowledge and competence of volleyball and beach volleyball rules according to the most recent trends in the sport.		One of the most recent trends has been the rise of female referees, with the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix 2011 final between Brazil and USA in Macau, China the first time that both referees were female; Zorica Bjelic of Serbia and Susana Rodriguez of Spain. This increase in female referees has resulted in the FIVB introducing a women's only International Volleyball Referee Course for 2012. This is set to take place in Turkey, with dates to be confirmed in the near future.

Ronald Stahl Jr.
International Volleyball Referee
	Nationality : USA Birth date: 10.08.1966 Height: 185cm Nomination in 2003 Total of matches: 1256 national and 54 International Occupation: Network Systems Engineer
Biography: Ron Stahl refereed in the 2010 edition of FIVB World League and has been selected for the FIVB Women’s World Championship in Japan. He refereed the first and second rounds of the Men’s and Women’s World Championships in 2006 and 2010. He will referee many National level matches in the United States this year. Previously, Ron has refereed the Gold Medal match at the World Universiade Games, as well as Gold Medal Matches for the USA Volleyball Open National Championship. Ron was selected to referee at the FIVB Junior Women’s World Championship in Thailand in 2007. He has also participated in the Volley Masters tournament in Montreux, Switzerland; the America’s Cup tournament in Brazil, and numerous NORCECA Championships. Ron looks forward to many more years as a referee and aspires to attain FIVB Referee status.
