Four women's teams advance to Main Draw at the 2010 SWATCH FIVB Youth World Championships

Porto, Portugal, July 28, 2010—Emerging from the pressure of the competition, the blazing sunshine and significantly humid conditions, four women’s Beach Volleyball teams, representing four countries, battled through three qualifying rounds Wednesday to advance to the 24-team women’s Main Draw at the 2010 SWATCH FIVB Youth World Championships, the ninth annual event for players under 19, which is being held adjacent to the Edificio Transparente at the Esplanda do Rio de Janeiro. The world championship event runs through Sunday where it is being held for the first time in event history.    More

Porto, Portugal, July 28, 2010—Four men’s Beach Volleyball teams, representing four countries, battled through three rounds of qualifying matches Wednesday to advance to the 24-team men’s Main Draw at the 2010 SWATCH FIVB Youth World Championships, the ninth annual event for players under 19, which is being held adjacent to the Edificio Transparente at the Esplanda do Rio de Janeiro. Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, July 28, 2010 - Mayra Garcia and Bibiana Candelas of Mexico and Igor Hernandez and Jesus Villafañe of Venezuela, regular participants on the SWATCH FIVB World Tour, claimed the women’s and men’s gold medal respectively at the Beach Volleyball Tournament at the XXI Central American and Caribbean Games on Tuesday.   More

 

Juliana & Larissa Continue Winning Ways at A1 Beach Volleyball Grand Slam


Juliana Felisberta Silva celebrated her 27th birthday last week at home in Brazil, but she and Larissa Franca are looking for one more present at this week's A1 Beach Volleyball Grand Slam in Austria.

World Championships, SWATCH Grand Slams Highlight 2009 Season



The world championships in Norway followed by SWATCH FIVB World Tour Grand Slam events in Switzerland, Russia, France and Austria highlighted the 2009 international Beach Volleyball campaign as US$7.2-million in prize money was distributed at 18 events in 15 countries.
